I hate it. I literally can stare at my mountain piles and seethe. I don't mind dishes, toilets, floors, you name it-don't mind it. Laundry is like my Goliath. My Russian boxer jacked up on steroids. And unfortunately I don't have a sling shot and I most definitely don't have an Adrien to inspire me. This has been an issue since...well forever. Why? It's like my whole being freezes when I look or even think of it. But what the hey, I guess we all have faults... Good luck with your loads today I will be needing some for mine :)

The rumors are true...Rodney and Anne are done having children unless God just says "BLAM" and we get another...not likely to happen since Rod had his little procedure. He did well I have to say and only said a few things that I still can't get over...

To the hospital...

Rod: " Anne, you have no idea what this is going to be like..."

Anne: "Were you in the room 5 weeks ago when I birthed our third baby?"

Rod: " It's not the same."

Anne: " Stop talking Rodney..."

(silence)

In the office ( Tuesday) as I am signing my consent for him to get snipped...

Dr: "You really shouldn't do any major activity for a while."

Rod: "Can I play basketball at the YMCA on Friday?"

Dr: " You can if you want coconuts hanging between your legs for the next 6 month..."

(Silence)

Day after...

Rod screams at me from third floor : "Anne, I need some more peas (frozen)!"

Anne, nursing our 6week old, yells: "I will get you some in a minute!!!"

Joey comes running down the stairs and yells, " Mom! Get some ice for Dad's balls!!! NOW!!!"

(Silence: In regard to the fact that my children are going to need extensive therapy)

My Jett turned two! I can't believe how big he is gotten and how much personality he has! He had a great time with his Grammi Lynn being in town being that his gifts doubled in size and quantity. My friend Alicia has this thing where she has a wish list for her kids on their birthday and so I think I am going to copy her idea. Jett these are the things I wish and pray for your life...

Most hear the very word and shiver~~~~ Mine on the other hand is spectacular!!!! Ok people out in blog world, I don't think I have ever really explained how spoiled I am by her. In the past month Lynn has set me up with everything from a brand new top of the line breast pump, to post baby clothes so I can still feel "comfortable" and "pretty"! Who thinks about anyone like that. I even got the best coffee maker in the world that has taken the place of any other cup of coffee I will ever drink because she understands my passion for a fresh mug in the morning...I am spoiled! I love her to the hilt...seriously blessed.

Urban Camping!!!

My children love two things...their Papa Austen and camping. But because they were born to Rodney and Anne Johnson, they still require some comforts in life. For example, they need the right temp, fans, proper bedding, water glasses, snacks on demand, a mother within 30 feet, and a bathroom near by...or is this just their adult supervision. Regardless, we as their parents and grandparents are going to try within our personal means to provide as much of an outdoor "wilderness" experience as we can throughout their "boy" years. This is what we (my dad) came up with....

Greetings! Pretty sure that I have lost my fans due to my lack of blogging...but I have to say that I have been too busy. These past months have been a huge struggle-not emotionally- but physically! holy moly!!! Sicker than a dog Feb, march, April, and then the end of April I get mono. Everyday has been tough. I am so tired and exhausted. Today I was at Target and I could barely muster enough strength to get Joe into the cart.

I am ready to start feeling better!!!

OK enough of the excuses...on a good note, We are having a baby girl!!! YEAH! She will be here in about 13 weeks! We are all excited to see and meet the little princess. Joe says, " Mom, will she look like you or like dad?" I said "Well, maybe she will look like you." Joe says..."Then she will look like you, mom!"

Christmas is here!!! Instead of writing a Christmas letter and using a tree to do it, I thought I would write a quick blip about our year here! We had a lot happen and because I like to read bullets instead of paragraphs here you go...

Jan: Can't really remember January, still post-partum and not sleeping...

Feb:Again, no memory

March: This was a fun month because Jett got to go to CA to meet his family for the first time! We went to the zoo. And Mom only packed warm clothes cause you can't comprehend going from 15 degree weather to 75 in just four hours.

April: My dearest friend had a baby and I got a stomach flu from Satan. No amount of sleep deprivation could make me block that out.

May: Joey turned 3!!! And he got got his first big boy bike that papa Schauer taught him to ride. Rodney graduated with his master's in counseling and quit his Job at New Beginnings to pursue a lawn mowing career at the local country club. I was so proud!

June: He became an official part time youth pastor at our Church, New life fellowship.

July: We are hot, I am trying to lose weight, we love the water park, and Rod is starting to think of different job options and returning to therapy as both an occupation and client. We move into a 100 year old home and know we will be fine with all my husband's hands-on carpentry experience.

August: My beautiful nephew is born- Gabe Austen Schauer! We love him and he is the best baby! And, it becomes official...Shelbi Lynn Wilson, our neice's adoption, becomes final! She is so wonderful. Rodney quits the lawn mowing business and becomes a clinical therapist at North Eastern Mental Health and picks up a part time job working as a school counselor at Kensal two times a month. (He works for my Uncle Tom...and says he really enjoys it!)

September: Not the best month...It is a bit of a blur cause everyone was so sick...thanks to all who helped out that month. Sorry if we happened to spread the misery!

October: Jett and Joey are "Tom Sawyer" like fisherman...Joey falls in love with Halloween and has an idea to dress up and says he wants to be a doggie next year so he can lick people. Rodney says we get free sessions at NEMH, we might need to use them next year. Jett turns one! I burn pancakes real bad at the house and spend the day airing it out. I wake up at 4:00am wondering why the alarms didn't go off. I look through the house to check. Four floors and not a single alarm. I am wondering how our inspection passed? Rod makes a trip to Wal-Mart the next day.

November: I sign up with the Americorps one more year. They have been good to me and the job seems to fill my need to spread my wealth of advice and help for people. Joey has to get his chin glued together at the ER. The doctor asked him what he was for Halloween and Joey told him. He looked at me and said "Couldn't find a better costume for this guy?" I wanted to get joey's fishing pole prop and shove it up....... just kidding, but seriously.

December: We are here trapped in my house because of this season's first blizzard and had an idea to write this as my son (Joey) is throwing sticks at my head ( feminine products...no joke, Rod encourages this behavior cause he thinks it's funny) I think I will be needing a few of those sessions as well. Anyway, I thought that most of you will or have gotten our Christmas card and I thought, you know the funny pics are the bloopers. This picture took at least 15-20 tries and you have the best but here are some that didn't make it !!!

We love you and can't thank you enough for being apart of our lives! May God be with you this season and have a wonderful new year trying to get in shape and lose weight!

I would just like to comment on the painful task it is to be this beautiful...Some of you in blogger land might think that I just wake up hairless and this exotic...the truth is, thanks to my Italian ancestry and genetics, I have to work at this and pour wax on my face once or twice a month so to blend in with modern day society. Jett VS Winter!

I am realizing with my son Jett, that he has a very difficult time with change. I started to figure this out during the summer, with him HATING his swim trunks and the pool water. Now I am trying to get him used to winter, the cold, and wearing a hat and a coat where he can't even put his arms down. Needless to say, after many tears/tantrums, I can state without a doubt, Jett will hate change and will have to transition slowly into new things. Seasons just happen to be the first major transition in his life. We will keep you posted on more to come...

Okay, I think at one time I had written how when my children get sick...they get SICK! Jett was battling an ear infection this past week and I thought it would be able to be cleared up with some drops, but then we bring him home from Fargo and he breaks out into a 104 degree temp! (Which he never does-even when he had RSV) We immediately bring him into the doctors and sure enough the doc says, oh Anne, he is going to have to be admitted right away. WHAT?!?

I take him to the hospital where he gets an IV and blood work taken. We find out that he has strep- pneumonia with a white cell count of 30,000! (10,000-15,000 is the highest they want to see it)

We stayed in the hospital for 4 days and went back for a check up on the 5th! Point of my story?

1. Thank the Lord we have the type of medical care that can save the lives of our children.

2. This is my 7th stint at the hospital in the past 3 years with my children...

-Spinal meningitis

-roto virus

-stomach flue with bronchitis

-tubes

-RSV with Influenza

-tubes

-And now strep pneumonia with a horrible ear infection

3. I am starting to think we might be special.

4. Wait, I know we are special...and yes this is not normal....

5. I am beyond blessed that each time we as a family go through this, we have the most spectacular support system ever!

Anyway, Jett is now recovered, smiling, and playing with his brother (who is now fighting off croop). Like always thanks for all your prayers!

Anxiety is the 21st Century's New Name for Fear

Ok, I know this title seems a little deep. And to be honest, I don't even really know where I am going to go with this. I have to say however, I have struggled my entire life with fear and anxiety. One night, I was trying to figure out what on earth I mostly fear over and then it came to me as I was watching CNN. (I know dad, but we don't get FOX)

Anyway, some report was on concerning this financial crisis that our country is in and they had said, "If you are fearing the unknown, this is what you can do insure your $$$....Bla bla bla...." After that comment, It totally hit me!!!! I am almost always in fear of the UNKNOWN!!! Always! It is like I have a really difficult time just living in the moment. I fear my families death, I fear having no job, I fear my kids rebelling when they are older, I fear spinal injuries, I fear my friends and family not being pleased with me, I fear conflict in my life. I fear things that haven't even happened yet, like, "If I lose 20lbs, what if I can't keep it off!"

Anne, maybe you should be just worried about getting off your duff and working out TODAY!

I have got to get this fear thing under control.

Another thing that made me realize that worrying is just a waist of energy was with what happened this past week. As most of you know, I was pregnant and then unfortunately I miscarried. During my pregnancies with Joe and Jett, the entire time, I thought I would never be able to survive if something happened. And even during this preg. I was like panicking over things....but it did happen. There was nothing I could do. God was in the drivers seat. And I survived.

And that brings me to my last thought. God is in control. He knows my future. He knows what will work, what will fail. He knows what blessings are in store for my life and the unfortunate sorrows that comes along with life. I just have to give everything to Him. What is the point of faith if it isn't put to use?

Anyway, these are my thoughts today. Nothing real fun to read. But nevertheless felt good to put into words. (No worries mom, I will still take me meds!:)

Family Sacrifice? Not Really!

Once again Kati, Lynn, Shelbi, Dylan, and Christian made the long trip to visit us from Bakersfield, CA. (Thank you guys!) We had the best time! Kati and I always talk about how we won't see each other for months but still pick up where we left off when we're reunited! Someone said to me at one point, "That is a really big sacrifice to use all your vaca and $$ on family all the time..." But I was thinking, "I wouldn't want to spend my time any other way!" I feel blessed that we have family who wants to spend time with us and that we thoroughly enjoy hanging out with. If we all lived in the same town, I would love hanging out with them! So sacrifice? Not at all... the only real sacrifice is having to wait till the next time!

Too Close For Comfort!

Yesterday my sister and mother-in-law, along with my beautiful niece, were traveling to Fresno Children's hospital when their tire blew going 80mph. Kate lost control of the vehicle, smashed into the guardrail, and by the grace of God weren't hit by coming traffic. Everyone is doing fine. Lynn is very sore and both, I think, are a bit shook up. I am so thankful that they are OK. God is so good! We love you!

We had the very best weekend! We got to be a part of the wonderful wedding of Robin and Jake Tracy. Here are two people 48 and 44 who have never been married-great Christians and just waiting on God to bring that "special" person into their lives! And he did! When I witnessed them together something came to me... They really appreciate what they have. They know that falling in love is a gift and that it should be appreciated greatly. I was married so young that I don't think I have ever really appreciated the fact that I was able to find my "beau"! Well not any more... Rodney I love you and despite our heck tic life, I wouldn't want to share my life with anyone else!

As for Robin and Jake... We are so happy for you guys and wish you many happy years of blissful marriage!

Baby Gabe was born to my brother Aaron and his wife Juile on August 7th at 3:57pm. He was a healthy 7lbs and 6.6oz and was 20 1/4 inches long! The Best mother in law in the entire world- And she is mine! I am so blessed. Most of my friends have much trouble standing their mother-in-laws and yet God blessed me with one that is one of the most spectacular human beings ever! She has been nothing but selfless and giving in our relationship. She is truly one of my best friends and I couldn't imagine my life without her. She was there for both children's births and woke up with me for every single night feeding the first 14 days of joey and jett's lives. There are not enough adjectives in the English language to describe my gratitude for her and I can't thank God enough for bringing her to my life! I love you Lynn! Thanks for everything! My gorgeous, talented sister came to visit from New York today! Very exiting. She has been away working towards her career in Musical Theater. We miss her so much. Anyway, I have to say she looks really good. She is in really good shape and has grown her hair long. If anyone has a hot guy friend or brother that has a strong relationship with Lord, all his teeth, a job, and has very thick skin please contact me! We are always looking for her. So far we are 0 and 98. But I know he is out there!

JOEY! What a great kid. Definitly a first born. He is in to everything and anything his dad is. He has a love for trains, Veggie Tails, Thomas the Train, cici's (paci's), big cars, and loves hang'n out with his friends. He is very stong willed and loves the idea of independence. I think he would live on his own, work, and pay his own bills if we would let him. We love him so much and know that he is going to do great things. Ever since he survived Menigitis, I new that God had His hand on Joe's life.

JETT! He is just growing up too fast! He is not quiet sleeping through the night but very close! He is my happy-go lucky boy who smiles continuously. He loves his brother and can't wait till he can figure out that thing called walking. He and Joe both have had some rocky times with illnesses but seem to both pull out of it by around 10 months of age. Go figure!
Anyway, we love him so much and can't wait to see what God has in store for his life!

I once heard, and I don't know how true it is, but a mother loses something like 750 hours of sleep the first year their child is born. I know it will get better and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world and I feel blessed to have the life I have, I just need to get rid of the constant deep fog I live in. Any suggestions?
